Osborne misses vocation as public lavatory cleaner

You report ("George Osborne defends new job as Evening Standard editor, Guardian on line, 20 March; https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/mar/20/george-osborne-defends-new-job-as-evening-standard-editor) former Conservative chancellor George Osborne as telling MPs “In my view, Mr Speaker, this parliament is enhanced when we have people from all walks of life and different experience in the debate."
I agree. But why is it when MPs justify taking one or more extra jobs, they always take obscenely highly remunerated ones such as  in investment banking, international lecture circuit speaking roles, or senior positions in journalism, but never seeking to gain extra-parliamentary  experience as  public lavatory cleaners, home carers or road sweepers?
Now those would bring genuinely  new experience to parliamentary debates.
